Álvaro de la Cueva

Álvaro de la Cueva is a partner in the Tax practice area, with extensive experience in the provision of advice on international tax matters to Spanish and foreign multinationals, and with a particular focus on the technology and telecommunications industries. Álvaro also has a great deal of experience with international movement of high-net worth individuals both inbound and outbound. Álvaro joined Garrigues in 2002, following three years at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation in Amsterdam (the Netherlands). He has considerable experience in mergers and acquisitions on an international scale. Having spent the first few years of his professional career in the Netherlands, he has established particularly close ties with clients located in that country. On the other hand, he provides tax advisory services on an ongoing basis to foreign multinationals and private equity firms in relation to M&A transactions and internal restructuring processes. He has been an associate lecturer at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid since 2009, teaching a variety of subjects relating to tax law. Álvaro de la Cueva is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and of the Asociación Española de Derecho Financiero, which is the Spanish branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA).
