Grupo Cobra’s zero.e nears completion of its First US Solar Project

The Barrett Solar Project is zero.e’s first utilityscale solar facility, with a capacity of more than 172 MWDC and an output of 125MWAC to the electric grid. The project is located on approximately 895 acres of land in Rains County, Texas, just east of Dallas. Barrett Solar marks a foundational step in establishing the company’s footprint within ERCOT, as well as the US energy market. Additionally, the project will supply power to a well-known data center developer, through a secured Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)

For nearly two years, the development team worked diligently with landowners and community stakeholders, including supporting local first responders with upgraded communications and firesafety equipment, training for volunteer departments on PV safety, and hosting various community events.

The project is slated to reach commercial operations in March 2026. zero.e is Grupo Cobra’s renewable energy platform and has plans to develop, construct, and operate solar, wind and battery storage projects throughout North America. zero.e is slated to begin commercial operations on their next solar facility, Bynum Solar, in April 2026 and is currently evaluating expanding the projects with Battery Energy Storage.
