The Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (hereinafter “SUSCC”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the website www.spainuscc.org (hereinafter the “Site”) and is the controller of the information collected or provided via this website. During your application to become a SUSCC member or your registration and/or use of the Site and Services (as defined in the Terms & Conditions), you may submit personal information and other information to the SUSCC.
This Privacy Policy explains how the SUSCC collects, uses and shares your personal information and explains your rights with respect to your personal information and how to exercise these.
This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction and together with the Terms & Conditions applicable to the Site.
In respect of services we supply to companies or individuals in any of the EU countries we will, when applicable, also comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in respect of the data processing.

The SUSCC collects and uses the following personal information concerning you:
- Contact Information: The application form to become a SUSCC Member, as well as some areas of our Site, request or require your During the application and registration processes, we collect information such as your name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. Your contact information will be used to administer the SUSCC mailing lists and provide you with mailings that you have requested, and may be used to get in touch with you, when necessary, with respect to the Service or the Site or for other internal purposes such as surveys or events registration. We may also use your contact information to provide you with badges or to register your visit at our premises, to maintain our list of sponsors or to respond to inquiries or services you submit to us, or to otherwise fulfil the purposes for which you submitted such information to SUSCC in the first place. Your contact information will be included in the SUSCC members directory.
- Profile Information: During the application/registration process, and at any time thereafter, you may also provide SUSCC with additional information about yourself, other than contact information, such as information about your business, your interests, your background and services you wish to provide or obtain. We may use this information to better target you with newsletters and opportunities that are geared towards SUSCC members with your profile, or to track the success of our Site and Your profile information will be included in our CRM database.
- Directory Information: SUSCC makes the directory of members available to other SUSCC Therefore, if you do not want your contact information or profile information made public in this manner, do not submit it to SUSCC.
- Employment Information: In connection with the career services available on the Site, you will be given the opportunity to provide additional information either (i) about yourself such as your personal details, studies, skills, experience, and job requirements, or (ii) about the position(s) you seek to fill, such as the sector, job requirements and qualifications. If you submit your resume and other relevant details for job opportunities, your resume will be stored in our database for a duration of six During this period, it may be shared with companies actively seeking candidates with profiles matching yours.
When we do not collect your consent to process the above described information we collect about you, we process your information as these are necessary for the performance of the contract between us to provide you with access to the Site and/or the service or we consider it to be in our legitimate interests to process your information.
How long do we keep your personal information?
The principle that SUSCC applies is that we will retain the information you provided only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Your information that we need to manage you as our member will be kept for as long as you are a member. When you wish to terminate your membership, your data will be erased accordingly, unless otherwise required by applicable laws. We may indeed have to retain some transactional information for evidentiary purposes according to applicable laws as well as the information necessary to show that we acted on your request to terminate your membership. We will keep prospective members information that we use for prospection purposes for no more than 3 years starting from the date of the last interaction with the prospect. We refrain from keeping data collected through cookies and other trackers for more than 12 months without renewing our notice and obtaining your consent. Some other data are only kept for the time necessary to provide you with the relevant features of our Site.
With whom do we share your personal information?
We may disclose your information to third parties we engage to provide services that involve data processing on our behalf, such as our administrative software, CRM provider, online surveys provider. Such third parties do not include advertisers or marketers that would contact or solicit you. We will only disclose your information to such third parties if they adhere to the same restrictions regarding use of your information as are set forth in this Agreement.
Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside your country, state or province where the data protection laws differ from those in your jurisdiction. If you are located outside the United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer your data to the United States and process it there. Your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
What are your rights with respect to your personal information?
With respect to your personal information, you have the rights to:
- request access to and be provided with information on the processing of your personal
- request corrections of your personal information if such personal information proves inaccurate or incomplete;
- request, on legitimate grounds, your personal information to be deleted provided we are not under a legal obligation to keep these;

The security of your personal information is very important to us. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted.
