ATLANTA, GEORGIA,\u00a0APRIL\u00a022, 2026.<\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Construction is\u00a0officially\u00a0underway on the SR 400 Express Lanes project, a major transportation initiative\u00a0delivered by SR 400 Peach Partners,\u00a0a consortium of ACCIONA, ACS and Meridiam, which\u00a0covers the design, construction, financing and 55-year operation of a major new express\u00a0lanes\u00a0corridor\u00a0in Atlanta.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A formal ceremony took place in Alpharetta, bringing together the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT), the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA), the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), along with elected officials and project partners. The event, produced by True\u00a0North\u00a0400, marked the groundbreaking of the SR 400 Express Lanes project.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With an investment of approximately $10.8 billion (\u20ac9.8 billion), the project\u00a0will add new, optional dynamically priced express lanes in both directions,\u00a0encompassing\u00a0a 16-mile stretch between the North Springs MARTA Station and north of McFarland Parkway.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Once complete, the project will improve travel time reliability, increase\u00a0road\u00a0capacity, and\u00a0give drivers the\u00a0option\u00a0to bypass congestion through managed lanes.\u00a0In addition to improving reliability for drivers, the project advances transit in metro Atlanta through dedicated, toll-free access for MARTA\u2019s future bus rapid transit (BRT) service.\u00a0\u00a0The express lanes system will also support regional network connectivity by integrating with existing and planned managed lane infrastructure throughout metro Atlanta.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Early construction activities will include site mobilization, survey and geotechnical work, utility coordination, clearing and grading operations, maintenance of traffic installations, and foundational work for structures and\u00a0retaining\u00a0systems.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

KEY\u00a0<\/strong>PROJECTS<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ACCIONA continues to expand its presence in the United States, delivering major infrastructure projects nationwide.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aside from the SR 400 project,\u00a0the company is leading the design and construction of the Calcasieu River Bridge\u00a0in Louisiana, a critical infrastructure upgrade that will enhance connectivity and safety along Interstate 10.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In North Dakota,\u00a0as part of the Red River Valley Alliance, ACCIONA\u00a0is delivering the Fargo-Moorhead River Flood Diversion Channel project, a P3 flood protection initiative working alongside the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to\u00a0protect\u00a0more than 235,000 residents\u00a0from severe flooding.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the water sector, the company recently completed the renovation of the Tampa Bay desalination plant and will design,\u00a0build\u00a0and\u00a0operate\u00a0and maintain the Doheny Ocean Desalination Plant in California, strengthening long-term water supply resilience.\u00a0It also has three major water treatment projects in Puerto Rico,\u00a0which will\u00a0benefit\u00a0a combined 325,000 residents.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In renewable energy,\u00a0ACCIONA Energ\u00eda\u00a0operates a total\u00a0installed\u00a0capacity of 3GW in the USA, including 1.4GW of wind, 1.3 of solar, a 64 MW solar thermal plant and one of the largest utility-scale battery energy storage systems in Texas.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
