The first of these was the screening of a tribute video in which the workers who have been part of the \u201cGoya Espa\u00f1a family\u201d over the last five decades told\u00a0its founder, Antonio Unanue\u00a0, about the evolution of the factory since its installation in\u00a0Alcal\u00e1 de Guada\u00edra\u00a0in 1974.<\/p>\n<p>Next, the General Manager of Goya Spain, Antonio Carrasco, spoke. After warmly welcoming the attendees, he reviewed the history of the company, highlighting its main values, \u201cthe quality and tradition that, together with the effort and dedication of all of us who are part of this great family, have allowed us to celebrate 50 years of history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"ft-text\">Following her speech, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development,\u00a0Consolaci\u00f3n Vera\u00a0, highlighted the value of Goya Spain in the business fabric of the province as one of the main exporting engines of olive oils and table olives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ft-text\">The closing remarks were made by the Vice President of Goya Foods,\u00a0Joseph P\u00e9rez\u00a0, and the CEO of the company,\u00a0Robert Unanue\u00a0, CEO of the company, son of the founder and third generation of Unanue, who, after an\u00a0emotional remembrance of his father\u00a0, insisted on the family nature of the company and its constant attention to the community whenever it needs it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ft-text\">With a marked Andalusian accent, the Goya Spain 50th Anniversary Gala paid tribute to the company&#8217;s roots, with\u00a0flamenco and Andalusian horses\u00a0as the main protagonists, and a masterful performance by the Argentine singer, uniting Spain and the Caribbean, Goya Spain and Goya Foods with her voice. The history of Goya dates back to 1936, when the founder of the brand,\u00a0Mr. Prudencio Unanue\u00a0, began to import olive oils and olives from Spain for distribution to the Spanish community in\u00a0New York\u00a0.
